Missing persons case - Missing woman from Unterhaching becomes case for ZDF-Show
Shortly before the disappearance of a woman from Unterhaching, they and her husband apparently argued over money. The two had financial problems, another point of contention was an unfulfilled desire for children, said a spokesperson for the Munich Police Presidium. With an appeal on the ZDF program "Aktenzeichen XY... ungelöst" on Wednesday (17. July/20.15 pm), investigators hope to receive new leads on the woman's fate, who was 39 years old at the time of her mysterious disappearance. Her husband, whom she had been married to since 2018, was found dead in his apartment roughly four months ago.
New search in the fall
Investigators have a lot of work left in this missing persons case - especially in evaluating computers and other storage media. The police speak of more than four terabytes of data material. A clue led the officers last week. On the laptop of the husband, a geocode was discovered that led to a pond in Taufkirchen. Divers explored the water, but found nothing. In the fall, they plan to search a nearby field, said the spokesperson.
With the appeal on the ZDF program, the police hope to gain new insights into what happened around the 39-year-old's disappearance. At the end of October 2022, the couple had a heated argument. The woman then spent the night at a friend's house. A few days later, they reconciled during a walk in the Perlacher Forest and were then seen shopping in a discount store on November 5. The man reported his wife missing on November 7.
What the missing woman left behind
In the couple's apartment, they found bank and credit cards, glasses, a wallet, mobile phones, engagement and wedding rings, as well as her identity card of the missing woman. With photos taken during the forest walk, investigators now want to search nationwide for the woman, who was a financial advisor and then became a personnel referentin. She also worked as a fitness trainer.
The investigators consider both a violent crime, a suicide, or disappearance as possible at this point. The husband came under suspicion of the crime after his death in March, but the investigations were discontinued. According to the police spokesperson, the man died due to the consumption of legal substances.
The missing person in this case hails from Unterhaching, which is located in Bavaria. This incident took place in Munich, the same region. The police are still working diligently on File XY to uncover any information related to her disappearance and potential whereabouts. Despite a recent search at a pond in Taufkirchen, no significant findings were made. The police plan to continue their investigation in the fall, focusing on a nearby field.
