Digital Administration - Ministry: Report livestock with mouse click

Thuringian farmers can now register their Livestock with the competent authorities online using a computer. The registration of livestock will be possible online in the future, according to the Social Ministry in Erfurt. The excessive bureaucracy in many areas of agriculture was one of the criticized points during the farmers' protests a few months ago.

The procedure for animal registration has been digitalized together with the Thuringian Animal Disease Control Office. A digital registration form is now available on the office's website. Farmers are legally obliged to register their livestock with the respective veterinary office and the Animal Disease Control Office.

Both institutions will be informed simultaneously using the form, according to the ministry. However, the paper version will not be abolished. Farmers must register not only large animals such as cows or pigs, but also bees, for example.

The digitalization of animal registration also includes the process for registering bees, which can be done on the Thuringian Animal Disease Control Office's website using a computer. This online platform makes it easier for farmers in Erfurt to complete the registration process with a simple mouse click. The modernization of agricultural procedures in Thuringia aims to reduce the use of animal used for food in bureaucratic tasks.
