Premier League - Millions-sum for Bavaria: Zirkzee switches to Manchester

Dutch football player Joshua Zirkzee of the Netherlands national team is changing, as expected, to Manchester United. Manchester United announced that the former forward of FC Bayern Munchen signed a five-year contract until June 30, 2029, with an option for an extension of one more year.

Bayern will earn approximately 20 million Euro from this transfer. The German record champion sold the 23-year-old striker to FC Bologna two years ago for around eight million Euro and secured a 50-percent stake in his further sale. After two strong years in Italy, Manchester United now wants to pay an amount for Zirkzee's release that is slightly above the exit clause of 40 million Euro in his contract.

Manchester's Dutch manager Erik ten Hag also wants to bring Bayern's defender Matthijs de Ligt to the Premier League after that.

Zirkzee's move to Manchester United marks a significant shift in his football career, having previously represented FC Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. The bustling city of Munich, known for its rich soccer history, was home to Zirkzee during his time with the German powerhouse.

Manchester United's acquisition of Zirkzee is set to strengthen their squad, as they aim to challenge top English teams like Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League. The Red Devils have also shown interest in Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt, another Dutch talent, hinting at potential transfers within Europe.

Bayern, having sold Zirkzee to Manchester United for a substantial sum, continues to cultivate its transfer strategy. The club has been frequently involved in transfers, both in and out, making the Bundesliga a hub of soccer activity in Germany.

Interestingly, Zirkzee's move to Manchester United also coincides with a decade-long rivalry between these two clubs in the European arena. Manchester United and Bayern Munich have faced off numerous times in top-tier European competitions, adding an extra layer of excitement to Zirkzee's debut with his new team.

While Zirkzee leaves Germany for England, another Dutch national team player, De Ligt, could potentially join him at Manchester United. If De Ligt's transfer materializes, it would mark a significant turn for both clubs and could potentially shift the dynamics in the English Premier League.

It is worth noting that the Dutch football players' move to Manchester United follows a trend of European soccer stars joining English clubs during their prime years. Players like Memphis Depay and Ryan Gravenberch of the Netherlands and Frenkie de Jong of the Netherlands and Ajax have all opted to move to the English Premier League, further solidifying its status as a global football destination.

Lastly, as Zirkzee embarks on his new journey with Manchester United, the football world eagerly awaits to see how he will perform in the Premier League, especially under the guidance of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag.
