Support - Million-funding for Bad Süvlze - Revival of the town
One of seventeen nationwide projects, Bad Sülze receives funding in the millions, to set impulses for urban revitalization. The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in Berlin announced a funding of over 1.23 million Euro from the Program for National Building Projects for the city.
In this project, Bad Sülze plans to convert the former house of the Jewish family Levy into an exhibition and memorial site. Jewish victims of Nazism will be honored in this way.
Moreover, the development of the former "Stadt Hamburg" hotel aims to create space for art and creative industries. Exactly what will come out of the previously vacant building is still being designed, according to the mayor. "We are delighted, these two buildings are so landmark-defining for us – it's a big win", commented the mayor on the funding.
50 Million Euro National Building Projects Program
According to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, projects with overregional recognition, special national or international significance, high building cultural quality, above-average investment volume, and high innovation potential are funded in the 50 million Euro National Building Projects Program since 2014. They must demonstrate a special quality claim.
In this year, over 100 applications were submitted. "In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Basic Law, we have decided to select sites of democracy education and remembrance", said Building Minister Klara Geywitz (SPD). In Bad Sülze, in the Vorpommern-Rügen district, live approximately 1,700 people.
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture has also allocated funds for various construction projects across Germany, including a revival project in the commune of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This project aims to restore a historic farmhouse, contributing to the region's urban revitalization.
Interestingly, Berlin's Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure isn't the only federal ministry involved in construction projects. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture also oversees such projects, showcasing a diverse range of national development initiatives.
Despite the financial constraints imposed during the era of National Socialism, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture was able to manage and maintain certain agricultural projects, demonstrating its resilience and importance even under challenging circumstances.
In contrast, the current construction project in Bad Sülze, funded by the 50 Million Euro National Building Projects Program, is a testament to the country's post-war financial stability and commitment to urban revitalization and democracy education.
