At a remembrance event held at Arlington National Cemetery, Trump joins families of fallen soldiers. Harris, a contestant for the presidency, alludes to Trump disrespecting customs. Now, some of the distraught families respond and attack Harris.

The Trump campaign has distributed a statement from the families of the fallen troops, acknowledging their request for the Republican presidential aspirant's participation in the memorial ceremonies commemorating their children's third death anniversary. Harris is exploiting the sacrifice of US soldiers for political gain, according to the families.

"Trump was there to honor their sacrifice, but Harris has dishonorably transformed this solemn occasion into a cheap political stunt," the families stated. Trump acknowledged their statement on social media, thanking them for welcoming him to stand with them. The pictures were taken at the family's request.

Over the weekend, Harris condemned Trump for disregarding traditions due to political motivations during his visit to Arlington. Despite the cemetery administration's prohibition of political activities on the premises, Trump's campaign team shared photos of his appearance.

On Monday, Trump paid tribute to three fallen soldiers at Arlington, among the 13 US troops and over 100 Afghans who lost their lives in a bombing attack at Kabul airport on Aug. 26, 2021, as US troops withdrew from Afghanistan.

Throughout the weekend, Trump shared video messages from relatives supporting his stance on his social media platforms. One such message came from the mother-in-law of a fallen soldier, praising Trump and his team for their respectful behavior and support to the families in Arlington. She accused Harris of calling her daughter-in-law's death a success and asked her to clarify.

Trump's visit sparked controversy as defense ministry officials claimed his team was issued a warning against photographing. An altercation occurred between Trump's staff and a cemetery employee, leading to insults and shoving. The employee declined to file charges, but Trump's campaign team claimed they had obtained permission for the photos.

Trump's acknowledgment of support from the families of fallen soldiers, as mentioned in their statement, echoes his continued presence at the remembrance event, despite Harris' accusations.

In the midst of the controversy surrounding Trump's visit to Arlington, the mother-in-law of a fallen soldier publicly praised him for his respectful behavior towards the families and criticized Harris for her comments.
