Melania Trump drops cryptic remarks hinting at a potential assassination attempt.
In a post shared on her social media platforms, Melania Trump, the former First Lady, raises queries about the account given by authorities regarding the shooting incident involving her husband, Donald Trump. She expresses her belief that "there's definitely more to this" and stresses the need to uncover the actual truth. This statement comes as a part of promotion for her upcoming book, set for release in October, smack dab in the middle of the U.S. election campaign. The 54-year-old promises to share her own perspective and the real story in her book.
The shooting, which took place at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, left Melania Trump calling it a "disturbing and unexpected incident." She feels that the tight-lipped approach regarding this matter is quite heavy. She wonders why the shooter wasn't apprehended before he started firing. Melania released this video mere hours before the anticipated TV debate between her husband and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
Stirring up speculations
The incident sparked a wave of scrutiny over the Secret Service's response, as the shooter was able to gain access to a nearby rooftop providing a clear view of the stage. This led to multiple theories. Post the incident, the director of the Secret Service resigned.
Donald Trump will go head to head against Kamala Harris in the U.S. Presidential election on November 5. Since her departure from the White House, Melania has kept a low profile and made few public appearances in support of her husband's re-election campaign. She made only a brief appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in mid-July and spoke on the final night, however, she did not deliver a speech. It remains to be seen whether she will join her husband for the TV debate on Wednesday evening.
I'm not going to speculate about the reasons behind the director's resignation. I'm not going to ignore the fact that there are unanswered questions about the incident.
