Promotion to the Premier League - Media: De Ligt's goodbye from Bayern getting closer
A change of Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt (24) from FC Bayern Munich to Manchester United is reportedly becoming more concrete. The German and English football record champions are said to be in advanced talks about a transfer.
This is reported by the TV broadcaster Sky and Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. De Ligt is said to want to leave Bayern only for Manchester United this summer. He should receive a contract until the summer of 2029. The sticking point is still the transfer fee, which is said to be around 50 million Euros.
De Ligt is considered the most lucrative sale candidate from Bayern's center defense. He switched to the Bayern two years ago for around 70 million Euro transfer fee from Juventus Turin. The Dutch national player, who was eliminated in the EM semifinals with his team against England, has not yet established himself as an undisputed starter at the German record champion. In Manchester, De Ligt would meet his former trainer at Ajax Amsterdam, Erik ten Hag.
FC Bayern has so far signed defender Hiroki Ito (25, VfB Stuttgart), offensive player Michael Olise (22, Crystal Palace), and João Palhinha (29, FC Fulham) for the coming season.
