Massachusetts' statewide 911 emergency service is currently inoperative, according to Boston Fire officials.

"Routine maintenance has rendered the 911 system statewide inoperable. In case of an emergency, seek aid at your nearest Fire Box, or dial the Boston Fire Department at 617-343-2880. Another option would be to visit your local Firehouse for assistance. Stay tuned for updates on this evolving situation."
