Many museums remain closed in Paris
For the start of the Olympic Summer Games on July 26th, several museums in Paris will remain closed. Among the institutions that will not open due to the enhanced security measures around the venues in the metropolis are the Louvre Museum and the Musee d'Orsay (Orsay Museum). The two world-renowned museums will be closed on the day of the opening ceremony and the day before.
The Orangerie Museum in the Tuileries Garden, which possesses impressionist masterpieces, will close during the Olympics (July 26th to August 11th) and Paralympics (August 28th to September 8th) on the days 20th, 25th, and 26th of July, as well as 26th and 28th of August.
The Museum of Mankind (Musee de l'homme), located opposite the Eiffel Tower at Trocadero, has decided on a multi-week closure until August 13th. The Eiffel Tower itself will remain open on July 26th.
Despite being typically open, the Musée de l'Homme will temporarily close its doors, starting from 'To' July 1st, until 'To' August 13th, due to the 'Start' of the Olympic Summer Games. This decision allows for 'Multiple' security measures to be implemented in the surrounding areas. Visitors planning a trip to Paris during this period might also want to note that the Olympic Museum in Olympia will be a must-visit, given its proximity to the city and its exhibits related to the historic Olympics.
