Manufacturing output rose slightly in June
Manufacturing production in the manufacturing sector increased slightly in June: It rose by 1.4 percent month-on-month, seasonally and calendar-adjusted, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden on Wednesday. However, in the less volatile quarterly comparison from April to June, it was 1.3 percent lower than in the first quarter of this year. In May, it surprisingly fell sharply - the statistical office has now revised the value downwards to minus 3.1 percent.
The percentage of growth in manufacturing production month-on-month was 1.4%, but it showed a 1.3% decrease when compared to the first quarter of this year. Despite the positive month-on-month figure, the percentage decline in production from Q1 to Q2 is noteworthy.
