A man threw a firecracker from his balcony in the Leipzig district of Grüna. The fireworks went off immediately next to children playing on the playground on Thursday evening, the police reported. At least one child was lightly injured. The police are now investigating the 67-year-old man for dangerous bodily harm.

The incident took place in the Greenow area of Leipzig, near the playground. The man responsible for the incident is a 67-year-old resident of Saxony. Police believe Pyrotechnics were used in the incident, leading to criminal charges against the man. On Friday, Leipzig authorities announced increased police presence in Grüna playgrounds due to the incident.
