Due to the murder of his former partner, the Landgericht Koblenz sentenced a 35-year-old man to life imprisonment. The court considered it proven that the man had killed the 48-year-old woman in their shared apartment in Neuwied in the back of the head with hammer blows and several stab wounds in the past December. The judgment is not yet legally binding.

According to the indictment, the victim is said to have ended the roughly three-year relationship with the man in the summer of 2023. He is said not to have accepted the separation and put pressure on the deceased not to enter into a new relationship. The man with Italian nationality is said to have suspected that the woman had a new partner. Then the crime is said to have occurred.

The 35-year-old man, facing a trial at the Koblenz Regional Court in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, was convicted of committing a heinous crime. The court in Koblenz handed him a prison sentence of life imprisonment for the murder of his former girlfriend. The violent act took place in their shared apartment in Neuwied, involving brutal hammer blows to the victim's head and several stab wounds. Despite the conviction, the judgment is not yet final, pending any potential appeals.
