Man almost dies after sex with eel

In Vietnam, a man had to be hospitalized due to unbearable abdominal pain. The cause of his suffering was quickly discovered: a live eel was found in his abdominal cavity. An emergency surgery was inevitable as his life was in danger.

A man in Vietnam underwent an unusual emergency surgery recently. A live eel was found in his intestines.

According to a report by Vietnam News, a 31-year-old Indian national was admitted to the Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi on July 27 with severe abdominal pain. The patient was immediately examined and underwent several imaging tests. An X-ray revealed an eel skeleton in his abdominal cavity.

The patient's medical history showed that he had inserted the eel into his anus. Dr. Le Nhat Huy, deputy director of the center for colorectal and pelvic floor surgery at the hospital, assembled a team of endoscopy experts and anesthesiologists to perform a colonoscopy and attempt to remove the foreign body through the anus.

Reached the abdominal cavity

However, it was not possible to reach the fish through the anus, and the patient's pain was increasing, so the team decided to perform an emergency surgery, Huy said. The patient's life was at risk. "The eel had bitten through the patient's rectum and colon and entered the abdominal cavity," Huy said.

After removing the still-living eel, the doctors also found a lime in the man's intestines. They ensured that there were no other foreign bodies and sutured the perforations in the rectum and colon. The patient was given a colostomy due to the severity of his injuries and to prevent infection.

Doctors say many people, especially young men, seek unusual experiences with sex toys. The hospital has previously performed surgeries to remove objects such as oil bottles, glass cups, and adult toys from patients' anuses. However, this is the first case where a live animal was inserted into the rectum.

The unusual object found in the patient's intestines during the surgery was indeed a live eel. Despite attempts to remove it through the anus, the eel had caused severe damage and had to be extracted surgically due to the patient's worsening pain and life-threatening condition.
