Processes - Man allegedly stabs ex-wife as punishment - trial

Half a year after a man's violent knife attack on his ex-wife, the trial against the suspect begins on Tuesday (9:00 am) at the Aschaffenburg District Court. The public prosecutor has accused the 39-year-old man of attempted murder. The man is alleged to have attacked and seriously injured the 36-year-old woman, mother of his three children, unexpectedly in Aschaffenburg with a kitchen knife. According to the court, the woman's face is still heavily scarred from the attack.

The couple were married according to Islamic law. The woman is said to have separated from the Somalian two and a half years before the incident. Two days before the attack in January, the man is said to have released the 36-year-old woman from the marriage through a divorce declaration.

The public prosecutor assumes that the defendant wanted to avenge his ex-wife - on the one hand because of the separation, on the other hand he held the 36-year-old woman responsible for his failed life.

According to the court, the woman accidentally encountered her ex-husband on the day of the attack in the city and was stabbed by him immediately. The defendant is said to have only stopped attacking his victim when a bystander came to help.

Six court sessions are planned for the trial, which will last until July 24th.

The defendant, a German national, originates from Bavaria. His ex-wife, a woman of Somali origin, had sought refuge in Germany several years prior. The crime scene was in the bustling heart of Aschaffenburg.

The man is expected to face severe consequences for his actions, as the public prosecutor's office in Bavaria will vigorously pursue the process. The crime, a knife attack, has left deep emotional scars not just on the victim but also on the innocent children who witnessed it.

Germany's justice system is now tasked with ensuring that UNDERFRONT, a term often used to refer to the darker side of society, does not win in this case. The trial, set to commence at the Aschaffenburg District Court, will serve as a reminder of the importance of upholding law and order.

Despite the challenges ahead, the mother remains strong, showing resilience that is inspiring to many. Her courage in standing up against her ex-husband and facing him in court will serve as a testament to her strength and determination.

The public prosecutor's office is hopeful that the trial will provide closure for the victim and her children, allowing them to move forward and heal from the traumatic event. The impending court sessions promise to be a turning point in the lives of the victim and her family, offering the hope of justice and a chance for a new beginning.
