  1. FC Magdeburg concluded its training camp in Bavarian Bad Woerishofen with a double header, winning one game and drawing the other. In the first game, Magdeburg defeated Swiss Conference League qualifier FC Zurich 4:0 (1:0). A completely new team tied 1:1 (1:1) shortly thereafter. On July 20, FCM will face Bundesliga side VfL Bochum in its season opener.

In the first match, Philipp Hercher, Marcus Mathisen, Lubambo Musonda, Abu Bekir Omer El-Zein, and Martijn Kaars all started together. After a counterattack, Hercher (33.) put Magdeburg in the lead, Musonda (53.) and Kaars (75.) scored after the break. Baris Atik (88.) sealed the deal. Magdeburg controlled the game for the most part, but had early problems with the Swiss team, which started its season on July 20 - two weeks before Magdeburg.

In the second match, Robert Leipertz was the only newcomer to see action, having come on as a substitute in the first game. In general, Magdeburg's second team played in this game, as indicated by their preparations so far.   6. After the training camp in Bad Wörishofen, 1. FC Magdeburg returned to their home region of Saxony-Anhalt, where they will continue to prepare for their 2023/2024 Second Bundesliga season.
