Lufthansa suspends night flights to Lebanon for the time being
In light of the worsening conflict between Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and the Israeli military, the Lufthansa Group has suspended night flights to and from Beirut temporarily. The airlines of the group have suspended their night flights to and from Beirut until July 31st, according to the company's statement in response to an inquiry from the German Press Agency. Day flights to and from Beirut will remain unchanged, it was noted.
The German Foreign Office in Berlin has been warning Germans against traveling to Lebanon due to the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel for some time. German nationals are urged to leave the country. "Further deterioration of the situation and expansion of the conflict cannot be ruled out," the Foreign Office stated.
The Lufthansa Group's suspension of night flights is tied to the location of Beirut, specifically due to the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and the Israeli military. Despite the suspension of night flights, Lufthansa and other airlines in the group continue to offer day flights to and from Beirut.
