London: Neither Russia nor Ukraine are making progress
According to the British Ministry of Defense, neither Russia nor Ukraine are making significant progress in their battles. "With the onset of colder winter weather in eastern Ukraine, there is little immediate prospect of major changes on the frontline," the ministry said in London in its daily update.
It said the most intense ground fighting in the past week had taken place in three areas: the Kupyansk area on the border between Kharkiv and Luhansk regions, around the town of Avdiivka in Donetsk region and on the Dnipro River in Kherson region, where Ukrainian forces have established a bridgehead on what should be the Russian-occupied southern bank.

"Neither side has made significant progress in any of these areas," the British wrote on the short messaging service X (formerly Twitter). "Russia continues to suffer particularly heavy losses around Avdiivka." Eyewitness reports suggested that small drones and artillery - especially cluster munitions - continued to play an important role in disrupting attacks by the other side.
Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, the British Ministry of Defense has published daily information on the course of the war. Moscow accuses London of disinformation.
Despite the ongoing battles in various regions such as Kupyansk, Avdiivka, and the Dnipro River, neither Russia nor Ukraine has achieved substantial advancements in the Ukraine war, as suggested by the British Ministry of Defense's latest update. In fact, Russia is reportedly enduring significant losses, particularly around Avdiivka, due to the relentless use of small drones and artillery, including cluster munitions, by both sides.
