Dangerous accident - Lkw overtakes by curve - driver dies in collision
A 41-year-old car driver died in a frontal collision with a truck in the Landkreis Passau. The truck driver had this evening on the Staatsstraße 2127 near Aicha vorm Wald overtaken a tractor after a long curve, as the police reported. On the opposite lane, the truck collided frontally with an oncoming car. The car driver from Passau was so severely injured in the collision that he died at the scene.
The truck driver remained unharmed at the accident scene on the autobahn feeder road. The 45-year-old was arrested and his driver's license was confiscated. An investigation was initiated against the man, among other things, for endangering road traffic and negligent manslaughter, according to the Police. A technical expert was also commissioned to prepare a report.
Fifty fire department personnel, ten emergency services, and three police patrols were active at the scene of the accident. Aicha's mayor, Georg Hatzesberger, also obtained an overview of the situation. The truck was secured and towed away. The damage amounted to around 70,000 Euro. The road remained closed until late evening.
