Liverpool FC professional Díaz meets father again after kidnapping
Colombian international footballer Luis Díaz has met his father for the first time since he was kidnapped. "Thank God that we can be together as a family again," the Liverpool professional wrote on Instagram, posting an emotional photo of himself and his father.
The Colombian Football Association also shared pictures of the event on the platform X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: "We are a family." The 26-year-old is currently in his home country for a World Cup qualifier.

Luis Manuel Díaz and his wife were abducted by a unit of the rebel group in the department of Guajira in the north-east of the country on October 28. The Liverpool striker's mother was released shortly afterwards; his father only after almost two weeks on Thursday last week. The Catholic Church and a UN commission were involved in his release by the left-wing guerrilla organization ELN.
The suspects behind the kidnapping have been identified, the police announced at the weekend. They include the criminal hit group "Los Primos" (the cousins). Four suspects were arrested.
