After a lightning strike on a house in Diemelstadt (Landkreis Waldeck-Frankenberg), a serious fire broke out. According to the police, the lightning likely struck the Photovoltaic system on the roof of the building and ignited a fire.

The alarmed firefighters quickly got the fire under control. However, the police estimate the damage caused to be in the six-figure range. At the time of the fire, there was a resident in the house who managed to escape unharmed.

The house in question belongs to the town of Diemelstadt, located within the County of Waldeck-Frankenberg. Despite the swift response from the firefighters, the Police reported significant damage due to the fire, attributing it to the lightning strike. The Photovoltaic system on the roof, believed to be the initial point of contact for the lightning, suffered severe damage.
