Emergency - Lifeguards on Mallorca rescue five Germans
Lifeguards at Mallorca, according to their own statements, rescued five Germans from the sea. Firstly, two men and two women from Germany were at the beach of Son Bauló in the east of the island, who had waded into the sea. They were swept away by a sudden strong current, as reported by the company Marsave. A total of four lifeguards managed to bring them safely back to shore yesterday.
Furthermore, a German tourist was rescued at the Sa Canova beach on the north coast. There, the man was carried away by a sudden strong current. A sandbank had broken up through the action of the waves, causing a lot of water to flow back towards the open sea. Eventually, two lifeguards were able to rescue the man despite the strong current.
In response to these incidents, the Spanish government is considering strengthening its emergency protocols for tourists, particularly from Germany. This follows the rescue of several German tourists in Majorca, including five individuals at Son Bauló and another at Sa Canova beach. Despite the valiant efforts of local lifeguards, the presence of strong currents has posed a significant risk to women and men alike during their tourism activities.
