Lengthy incarcerations for the slaying of journalist De Vries.

Three years ago, renowned Dutch journalist Peter R. de Vries was brutally murdered in the streets of Amsterdam. Recently, an Amsterdam court found three individuals guilty of this crime and handed down hefty prison terms, up to 28 years. The prosecution wanted lifelong imprisonment.

Peter R. de Vries was shot dead by a man named Delano G. on July 6, 2021. Following this, Kamil E. - a Polish man - was accused of stalking the journalist before the murder and driving the car used in the getaway. Both Delano G. and Kamil E. are up for life sentences. All ten suspects involved in the trial, including these two main offenders, denied any wrongdoing.

The murder of de Vries is linked to the case against notorious drug lord Ridouan Taghi, head of the Mocro Mafia cartel. Peter R. de Vries had a close association with Nabil B., a former gang member who became a vital witness in Taghi's multi-year trial. Sadly, in the trial's course, two other individuals connected to Nabil B. were also killed: his brother in 2018 and his lawyer in 2019.
