Law enforcement officials in Serbia discharge weapon at a suspected individual.

The Serbian authorities took down a suspected accomplice of an individual who assaulted a cop close to the Israeli embassy in Belgrade back in June. This character attempted to dodge capture on Saturday night in the town of Novi Pazar, discharging numerous bullets at law enforcement officers prior to being subdued by the anti-terrorism unit, as per Interior Minister Ivica Dacic's announcement to local media.

The incident unfolded in the village of Hotkovo near Novi Pazar, a place with a significant Muslim population in Serbia. The subject in question was a prime suspect in the attack on the Israeli embassy in Belgrade and had been on the run since then.

The individual who met his end was identified as the property owner of the June attacker, who was fatally shot by police after striking a Serbian officer in the neck with a crossbow. Authorities categorized the attack as a "terrorist incident" and conducted searches at various locations across Serbia.

Local media likewise portrayed the man killed in Novi Pazar as a "dedicated supporter" of the radical Wahhabi movement. Wahhabism is a rigidly conservative version of Islam widespread in Saudi Arabia. As per the Interior Ministry, the man was apprehended in 2007 and served time in prison for terrorism-related offenses, receiving a substantial sentence.**

Police officers engaged in a tense standoff with the suspected accomplice in Novi Pazar, as he fired at them before being apprehended by the anti-terrorism unit. The property owner, a established supporter of the radical Wahhabi movement, had a history of terrorism-related offenses, having been previously arrested and imprisoned by police officers.
