Uncertain details surround the incident. As reported by media, a man apparently went on a rampage in Wolmirstedt near Magdeburg, attacking multiple individuals with a knife. The police declined to confirm the weapon used. On Friday evening, during a police operation in Wolmirstedt, an officer had to fire his gun, striking the suspect. Prior to the shooting, the man had reportedly assaulted the officers, as confirmed by a police spokesperson in Stendal. Sadly, the man died at the scene.

Initially, the spokesperson could not verify if the man was armed or if any other casualties occurred. According to "Bild," the man allegedly used a knife in his attacks. The Stendal police have assumed control of the investigation.

Reminiscent of a chilling event that occurred at the end of May, a knife attack sent shockwaves throughout the nation. A 25-year-old man from Afghanistan, claimed to be an islamcritical citizen's movement Pax Europa member, attacked fellow group members and a 29-year-old police officer on Mannheim Market Square with a knife. The police officer eventually succumbed to his injuries several days later.
