A apparently psychologically unstable man triggered a major deployment of police in the Hamburg district of Lurup. The man was reportedly overpowered by special forces after approximately two hours and taken into custody, a police spokesperson stated in the evening. Previously, he had barricaded himself in a second-floor apartment in the Boberstraße. No one was reportedly injured.

The first calls to the police, according to reports, came in around 8:25 pm. Initially, it was unclear whether the incident involved a hostage situation and whether the man was armed. According to "Bild" information, the man allegedly threatened people with grenades. The police were still on site late in the evening, securing traces.
