Weather - Large-scale operation: Sturmboens cause massive damages in Telgte

Strong storm boars caused significant damages in Telgte, east of Munster in a business area. According to the city, trees were uprooted and the Bundesstraße 51 had to be closed. The population was warned via social media to stay at home. The fire department reportedly intervened, according to the city ordinance office. Extensive damages occurred at buildings, a photovoltaic system was blown off a roof.

The fire department requested support from forces in the Warendorf district and the Technical Relief Organization.

The storm that affected Telgte, a town located east of Munster in North Rhine-Westphalia, also impacted the nearby Munsterland industrial area. The large deployment of the Fire department was necessary due to the unfavorable weather conditions. They even requested assistance from neighboring districts, such as Warendorf, and the Technical Relief Organization. The damaged buildings in Telgte included a structure that housed a large photovoltaic system, which was unfortunately blown off during the storm, named Sturmboe.
