State election in Brandenburg - Landesjugendring offers help with voting decisions
The Brandenburg Youth Council will help young voters find out which parties represent views closest to their own. For this purpose, there is the Wahl-O-Mat voting decision guide, which is usually used online, but is also available offline in Brandenburg before the state election, as the Brandenburg Youth Council announced. The Wahl-O-Mat action is scheduled to take place on site from August 28 to September 20 and primarily targets first-time and young voters.
Participants can discuss a series of given theses and express their agreement or disagreement through stickers. At the end, they receive a Wahl-O-Mat result calculation and printout. The tour stops have not been determined yet.
The Brandenburg Youth Council offers to organize the Wahl-O-Mat action for sticking, for example, during an open day, a public event or in youth facilities, and also takes care of transportation, setup, and pedagogical supervision. Organizations, associations, or even schools that want to be Wahl-O-Mat tour stops can register online with the Brandenburg Youth Council (https://www.ljr-brandenburg.de/wahl-o-mat-2024/) until July 16.
The voting decision guide was developed by the Federal Agency for Civic Education in 2002 and is currently offered for upcoming European, federal, and state elections in Germany. Users can signal their agreement or disagreement to theses from the current political debate using their PC, laptop, or smartphone. Based on this, it is then determined which parties' positions align more and which less.
