Rodermark - Kind falls from third step - Severe injuries

A three-year-old boy fell from the third floor of a house in Rödermark and was seriously injured, the police in Offenbach announced on Monday. In the clinic, diagnoses included a pelvic fracture and contusions, the police added. The boy had fallen from an open window in the Urberach district over the weekend and landed in a bush.

The police, based on current investigations, assume that this was an accident and are checking if there was any potential negligence involved. On Friday evening, in Darmstadt, a small boy also fell from the third floor of a house. A man caught him.

In the same city of Darmstadt, where another accident involving a child occurred, strict safety measures are being considered by authorities in Germany, particularly in Hesse, to prevent such incidents. After the incident in Rödermark, local authorities are increasing efforts to educate parents about childproofing their homes to prevent accidents like this.
