In the current scenario, Kennedy's prospective campaign appears to pose a threat to Trump's chances, so his withdrawal might benefit the Republican party.

Unaffiliated Contender or Autonomous Electoral Hopeful - Kennedy declares his intent to deliver a discourse.

With whispers of possibly backing Donald Trump in the election, free-thinking US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has arranged a speech for this Friday. The senior citizen, who's 70 years old, aims to "talk to the country," as per his website, tackling the "present historical situation" and his "planned route forward." Kennedy will deliver his speech in Phoenix, Arizona, where Trump also has a campaign event lined up for the same day (local time).

Kennedy's vice-president, Nicole Shanahan, has ventured the idea of an alliance with ex-President Trump, who's aiming to retake the White House as a Republican contestant.

According to ABC News sources, Kennedy is torn between leaving the race and possibly backing Trump. No solid decision on this matter has been made yet, though.

During an interview, Shanahan mentioned two feasible options for Kennedy's team: either sticking it out and fearing Democrat Kamala Harris's victory on November 5th, or endorsing Trump at this moment in time. It's uncertain how much Shanahan's standpoint is in alignment with Kennedy's thoughts. Following her comments, Trump hinted at a role for Kennedy in his potential administration if he were to win.

As an activist and attorney, Kennedy is known for championing environmental issues such as clean water. Lately, however, Democrats and family members have criticized him for promoting conspiracy theories and associating with extremist politicians despite his self-proclaimed dislike for vaccines. Polls place Kennedy as an underdog in the presidential race, consistently scoring around 5% average support. The election is shaping up to be a close fight between Trump and Harris, and Kennedy's candidacy concerns both Democratic and Republican parties due to his potential to sway significant numbers of votes. At this point, Kennedy's campaign seems more of an obstacle for Trump, so withdrawing from the race might be perceived as positive news for the Republican party.
