Presidential hopeful Kamala Harris will serve as a president for all U.S. citizens, aiming to bridge the divide in the nation. "I vow to be a president for every American," Harris declared at the conclusion of the Democratic gathering in Chicago. At this event, she officially received the Democratic party's nomination for presidency at the age of 59.

She galvanized her party for the crucial weeks preceding the November early election, warning against the potential return of Republican Donald Trump to the White House. "This election is more than just significant for us individuals, it is of paramount importance for our nation," she emphasized. It's a "struggle for America's future."

Addressing the Party and the Nation

Upon taking the stage, the incumbent U.S. Vice President was met with prolonged applause. Her speech was punctuated by recurring cheers and chants. Harris urged her party to recognize the gravity of the situation and called for the nation's unity. "With this election, our nation has a precious opportunity to leave behind the animosity, skepticism, and divisive conflicts of yesteryears," she suggested.

Her fellow countrymen have a chance to chart a new course, "not as members of a specific political camp but as Americans." She desires to be a president who "leads and listens, possesses realism, practicality, and common sense." She will always advocate for the American people. Harris divulged that she has been frequently underestimated throughout her life. But she never surrendered, "since it's always worth battling for the future."

Harris warned of the potential resurgence of former President Trump. "The repercussions should Trump reclaim the White House are dire," she warned. Trump and his supporters harbor an extreme agenda. "They are just not mentally sound," she asserted.

The Democrat lauded her mentor, U.S. President Joe Biden, and applauded his accomplishments. "Your track record is exceptional – history will bear witness to it – and your character serves as an exemplar," she lauded the 81-year-old. Biden withdrew from the presidential race upon party pressure in July. Harris took his place.

A Spectacular Ending

The four-day convention concluded with a stunning finale. American popstar Pink performed an acoustic version of "What About Us" alongside her daughter Willow. Female country band "The Chicks" sang the national anthem. Actors Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington campaigned for Harris.

Notably, the final night of the convention featured an extensive female presence on stage, where many distinguished politicians endorsed Harris. Harris also received backing from various female relatives who appeared on stage.

This differs markedly from the Republican convention in July in Milwaukee, where Trump was principally praised by men during the grand finale. His speakers that evening were former wrestler Hulk Hogan and the head of the UFC, Dana White. Rock musician Kid Rock served as the musical star for Trump, who galvanized the crowd with "Fight! Fight!" chants.

Kamala Harris publicly declares her love for her husband on their anniversary

In turn, Harris expressed her public affection for her husband Doug Emhoff during her speech. "I love you so much, Dougie," she shouted out at the beginning of her address. "Happy anniversary." Harris' closing speech coincided with their tenth wedding anniversary.

Harris and Emhoff met later in life. A friend arranged a blind date for them in 2013, leading to their marriage the following year. Emhoff has two adult children from a prior relationship – Ella, who performed in Chicago, and Cole. They affectionately call Harris "Momala."

Emhoff is set to become the first man in U.S. history to assume the role of Second Gentleman. If Harris becomes the first female president, he would become the first First Gentleman of America.

Harris pledged to campaign fiercely for the #USelection2024, expressing concerns about a potential return of Donald Trump to the White House. She emphasized, "The repercussions should Trump reclaim the White House are dire."

In her speech, Harris expressed gratitude towards her mentor, President Joe Biden, and praised his achievements, stating, "Your track record is exceptional – history will bear witness to it – and your character serves as an exemplar."
