Japan alleges China of transgressing sovereign privileges
Japan alleges China of breaching its territorial integrity twice within a week's span. A Chinese oceanographic survey vessel was spotted near the coast of Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan's southwestern region, as per the Japanese Defense Ministry's announcement on Saturday morning. Japan's administration voiced their complaint to China's embassy. Previously, on a Monday, a Chinese military aircraft trespassed Japanese airspace. No immediate response was given by China's embassy.
In light of the escalating military activities by China around Japan and particularly near Taiwan, Japan's administration has been taking proactive defense measures. China has been using territorial disputes as their justification, a claim that Japan refuses to acknowledge.
The Japanese Defense Ministry expressed concern over potential risks to their vessels and personnel due to the Chinese survey vessel's proximity to their coast, citing a possible injury situation. The incident sparked renewed discussions in Japan about enhancing their defense capabilities to protect their territorial integrity.
