Software - IT-Service provider Datev continues to grow

Nuremberg software provider Datev continues to grow due to a digitalization wave in handling tax documents. The IT service provider specializing in tax law firms reportedly generated 1.439 billion Euros in revenue last year, a 9.6% increase from the previous year. In the first half of 2024, 739 million Euros in sales were already achieved, and the workforce had grown to 8,971 employees, according to Datev in Nuremberg.

Datev hopes to tap into further potential by introducing the mandatory e-invoice for transactions with commercial business partners at the beginning of the coming year. The CEO of the cooperatively managed company, Robert Mayr, urged companies to register on corresponding platforms now. The e-invoice will serve as a "digitalization booster" in business, he added.

According to Financial Director Diana Windmeißer, Datev achieved a profit of 91.6 million Euros in the previous year. 56.5 million Euros were returned to the 40,000 cooperative members. Datev reportedly has around 620,000 customers in Germany and other countries.

In Germany, Datev's growth is largely attributed to the digitalization sweep in managing tax documents. The software company based in Bayern, specifically in Nuremberg, reported a revenue of 1.439 billion Euros last year, marking a 9.6% increase from the year before. To capitalize on this trend, Datev plans to implement the mandatory e-invoice for commercial transactions, which the CEO, Robert Mayr, believes will serve as a catalyst for further digitalization in businesses.
