Israeli military operations in Rafah result in fatalities for 12 Palestinians

Israeli military operations in Rafah, the southern region of Gaza, as per Palestinian accounts, resulted in multiple fatalities. On Wednesday, Israeli tanks, escorted by fighter planes and drones, moved further into Rafah's western sector, according to local residents and Palestinian medical personnel. Reports suggest that at least twelve individuals lost their lives in the ensuing skirmishes, with the identities of the deceased yet to be definitively established as either civilians or combatants.

Independent verification of these accounts remains elusive. The Israeli military acknowledged investigating the matter upon request. Wednesday also saw sirens blaring near the Gaza Strip due to an intruding drone originating from the coastline, as per military reports. The drone is said to have malfunctioned and crashed on Israeli soil close to Gaza.

The ongoing conflict was deliberately ignited by terrorists associated with Hamas and other organizations on October 7, resulting in approximately 1200 deaths. As per the Hamas-controlled health authority, a staggering 37,396 people have been killed and 85,523 injured in Gaza since the conflict's inception. The toll does not differentiate between civilians and combatants, and its authenticity remains unverified independently.
