Israel has launched airstrikes against the Hodeida port city in Yemen, controlled by the Huthi militia. The airstrikes were a response "to Hundreds of attacks" by the rebels against Israel in the past few months.

On Friday, a man was killed and at least eight others were injured when a combat drone hit a building in the center of Tel Aviv. Magen David Adom, the rescue service, reported on the online platform X that the drone, loaded with explosives, hit a residential building. According to the army, the long-range drone came from Yemen. The Huthi-controlled media reported an attack on a "significant target" in Tel Aviv. Israeli Defense Minister Joav Galant threatened retaliation.

The airstrikes on Hodeida targeted fuel tanks in the port, according to the Huthi-controlled Health Ministry. Nasruddin Amir, a spokesman for the Huthi media office, said a fire had broken out at the important port. The Huthi-affiliated Al-Masirah TV reported that several people had been killed. Since the beginning of the year, British and US forces have been attacking Huthi positions in Yemen regularly to destroy their military capabilities. Warships of two international coalitions are also trying to secure maritime traffic along the Yemeni coast. The German Navy was also present with the frigate "Hessen" as part of the EU maritime mission "Aspides" on site. A civil war and a severe humanitarian crisis have been raging in Yemen since years, in which about 80% of the population is in need of aid.
