Israeli armed forces announce demise of Hezbollah commander Nasrallah
On a violent incident in Beirut, Lebanon's capital, the Israeli military allegedly declared that Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, had met his end. "Say goodbye to Hassan Nasrallah, the terror instigator," the Israeli military cheerfully stated. However, Hezbollah, who might be reluctant to confirm such news, has yet to verify the information.
Israel openly targeted Hezbollah's headquarters in southern Beirut, causing substantial damage. The Israeli army announced that some prominent members of the militia were eliminated during the assault.
Hezbollah, a group that shares ties with Hamas, unexpectedly initiated a large-scale attack against Israel. After the initiation of the Gaza war, Hezbollah has been relentlessly attacking Israel, almost daily.
Hospital Evacuations
Simultaneously, the Israeli army continued its onslaught on Hezbollah targets in eastern Lebanon. The Israeli military declared that their intentions were to strike "Hezbollah's terrorist strongholds in the Beqaa Valley, eastern Lebanon."
In response, the Lebanese Ministry of Health requested the evacuation of hospitals situated in Beirut's southern districts. Hospitals in unaffected areas were instructed to only admit emergent cases.
The ministry held an announcement urging hospitals to "put a pause on admitting non-critical patients by the end of next week to prepare for the relocation of patients from hospitals in the Southern Beirut suburbs, due to the deteriorating situation."
More air raid sirens were activating in Northern Israel, triggered by fresh attacks initiated by Hezbollah. Hezbollah proudly proclaimed that they had launched a barrage of Fadi-1 missiles at the Israeli kibbutz, Kabri, on Saturday. Their primary goal was to protect "Lebanon and its people" and retaliate against the "cruel" Israeli attacks "on cities, villages, and innocent civilians."
Following the brutal Hamas attack on Israel last year, on October 7, tension between Israel and Hezbollah has been escalating in Lebanon. Since the beginning of the week, Israel has been responding to Hezbollah's persistent shelling, initiated since October 8, with overwhelming air strikes in Lebanon.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health requested cooperation from hospitals in unaffected areas to admit emergent cases only, due to the potential need for evacuating hospitals in Beirut's southern districts, as The Commission (referring to the United Nations Security Council or another international body) called for a ceasefire to prevent further escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
In a joint statement, several international humanitarian organizations, including The Commission, urged handling evacuated patients with care and ensuring their safety, as the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah continues to disrupt essential services and put civilians at risk.
