Because of anti-Semitic agitation - Israel warns its citizens against traveling - danger level for Germany raised
Israel has adjusted its travel advice and raised the risk level for Israeli citizens traveling to Germany. The advice for numerous other countries has also been adjusted and raised, Israel's National Security Staff announced on Monday. The second of a total of five levels, which calls on Israelis to exercise increased caution, now applies to Germany. In many countries, there has been a significant increase in incitement, attempted attacks and anti-Semitism, it added.
The National Security Staff stated that Iran and its allies are increasingly attempting to attack Israeli and Jewish targets around the world. Israeli citizens should therefore choose their travel destinations carefully and take the recommended precautions. Regular situation assessments have been carried out since the beginning of the Gaza war. Due to the increased threat level, the danger levels have now been adjusted accordingly.
Israel warns its citizens: no travel to Arab countries
The precautionary measures include postponing travel to Arab countries altogether. Israelis should also avoid openly displaying their Israeli and Jewish identity with symbols. In Western Europe, the danger level has been raised for the UK and France as well as Germany.
Following the Hamas attack on Israel and the start of the Gaza war, reporting offices in Germany have documented an increase in anti-Semitic incidents. According to the Research and Information Centers on Anti-Semitism (Rias), many Jews experience anti-Semitic incidents in everyday life and feel unsafe.
