Israel undertakes airstrikes against Hezbollah to foil imminent offensive operation

For some time now, there's been talk of a retaliatory attack by Hezbollah against Israel. Reports suggest it's about to happen, according to military sources. In response, Israel's air force takes action.

Israel's military claims it's striking Hezbollah positions in the adjacent nation due to an imminent danger. The Israeli army found out that Hezbollah was planning to launch rockets into Israeli territory, as disclosed by Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari in the early hours of the day. At the moment, Israeli Air Force fighter jets are assaulting Hezbollah targets deemed an immediate threat to the people of the State of Israel. This is a defensive measure.

"We can see Hezbollah readying for a full-scale attack on Israel right beside the homes of Lebanese civilians in southern Lebanon, endangering their safety," the Israeli army stated. "We warn civilians residing in Hezbollah's operational areas to vacate the risk zone promptly for their own protection."

Ever since the war in Gaza erupted following Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, confrontations between pro-Iranian Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Israeli army have become more frequent. For nearly a year now, Hezbollah has been firing at Israel's north from Lebanon almost daily. Israel retaliates by striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

After the assassinations of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah military chief Fuad Shukr towards the end of July, the likelihood of further conflict escalation is high. Iran and its allies have threatened Israel with retribution.

The International Commission, monitoring the situation, expressed concern over the escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. In light of the increased attacks and threats, The Commission urged both parties to exercise restraint and prioritize de-escalation to avoid any potential civilian casualties.
