War in Middle East - Israel: Many leaders of the military wing of Hamas killed

Israel's Army, according to its own statements, has reportedly eliminated or arrested half of Hamas' military command. Approximately 14,000 terrorists have been eliminated or arrested by the troops since the beginning of the conflict over 9 months ago, the Military stated in a declaration. It was not clear from the Army's statement whether these individuals were exclusively members of Hamas or members of other terrorist groups. According to estimations by the Israeli Military, there were around 30,000 Hamas fighters before the conflict began.

So far, the Military has reportedly targeted around 37,000 sites in the Gaza Strip from the air. These figures could not be independently verified at first.

Israel is facing international criticism due to the high number of casualties among the Palestinian population and the extensive damage in the coastal strip. According to the health authorities controlled by Hamas, at least 38,713 people have been killed since the beginning of the conflict. These figures do not distinguish between civilians and combatants and could not be independently verified at present.

Over the weekend, Israel's Army reportedly targeted the commander of Hamas' military wing, the so-called Qassam Brigades. It is still unclear whether Mohammed Deif was injured or killed in the attack. The troops will continue to pursue Hamas' leadership, the Military added.
