Middle East Conflict - Iran's president assures Hamas of even greater support
Iran will further strengthen its support for the Islamic Hamas following the assassination of its political leader, Ismail Haniyah. "Iran will not deviate even an inch from its support for the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime (Israel), but will rather intensify it," President Massoud Peshkeian told Khalil al-Haya, Hamas' deputy foreign chief, during a telephone conversation. Peshkeian described the assassination of Haniyah in Tehran as a "terrorist act," as reported by the state news agency IRNA.
Iran and Hamas blame Israel for Haniyah's killing. Israel has not officially reacted to these accusations yet.
Iran strongly condemns the assassination of Hamas' political leader, Ismail Haniyah, calling it a "terrorist act." Consequentially, Iran vows to augment its aid to Hamas, viewing the assassination as a justification to intensify its support for the Palestinian resistance against Israel.
