- Iran's army chief speaks of "bloodbath" against Israel
The Iranian leadership has already decided on "blood revenge" against Israel, according to Army Chief Mohammed Bagheri. The armed forces are now only checking the timing and execution of a retaliatory strike. "It is certain that the Zionists (Israel) will regret this act," the general was quoted as saying by news agency Fars. Together with allies, "blood revenge" will definitely be carried out.
The background to the threats is the assassination of the political leader of the Islamic Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran. Iran and Hamas blame Israel for this. Israel has not yet officially commented on this.
The Army Chief's statement highlighted that "The following," which involves blood revenge with allies, is a certain response to the assassination in Tehran. In retaliation for the attack on Ismail Haniyeh, Iran and Hamas have vowed to carry out their threat.
