Iran will encounter fresh sanctions due to providing missiles to Russia, as asserted by Blinken.
At a joint press conference in London alongside UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Blinken stated his belief that Russia would soon commence employing these missiles against Ukraine.
Furthermore, Blinken announced strengthened sanctions, specifically targeting Iran Air, the country's flagship airline. He asserted that anyone offering aid to Russia is essentially prolonging the war and the conflict.
Lammy echoed these sentiments, labeling Iran's actions as a concerning trend and a major escalation.
Blinken and Lammy revealed their plans to travel to Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, later in the week. Lammy referred to this trip as the "first joint visit of this nature in over a decade."
Blinken expressed his concerns about the political implications if Russia indeed uses these missiles against Ukraine, urging for global diplomatic efforts. Moreover, the escalating politics in the region, with Iran providing aid to Russia, has led to increased tensions.
