Host - Iran warns Israel against air attack in Yemen about escalation
The Iran has warned of escalation after an Israeli air raid in Yemen in response to a deadly drone attack by the Huthi-Militia in Tel Aviv. Israel's "dangerous adventurism" could spark a regional war, said Nasser Kanani, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the state news agency Irna. Israel's military had previously attacked military targets of the Huthi-Militia, allegedly linked to Iran, in the Hudaydah port in Yemen.
Israel and its allies, including the USA, would be "directly responsible for unpredictable and dangerous consequences" of the Gaza War and attacks on Yemen, Kanani said. The decades-long conflict between Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran has dramatically intensified since the start of the Gaza War. Israel is under attack from militias linked to Iran on several fronts.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "this attack in Yemen makes clear to our enemies that there is no place beyond the reach of the long arm of Israel." Weapons from Iran have reportedly entered the country via the port. The Huthi-Militia is, like Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah-Militia in Lebanon, an integral part of Iran's "Axis of Evil." Since the Revolution of 1979, Israel and the USA have been considered arch-enemies of Iran. Netanyahu had also referred to Iran as the "most important enemy" in the past.
