Iran and Bahrain scheduled to discus revival of diplomatic ties.
Regional talks have been scheduled between Iran and Bahrain, aiming to reestablish their bilateral connections. During a recent summit in Teheran regarding Asian cooperation, Iran's current Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, and his Bahraini counterpart, Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Sajani, discussed the requirements for reinstating diplomatic ties, according to Iran's state news agency, Irna.
This marks Al-Sajani's second visit to Teheran within a single month. The initial meeting occurred during the funeral service for Ebrahim Raisi, the deceased President who met his end in a helicopter crash in May.
Bahrain severed ties with Iran in 2016, mirroring the actions of its neighbor Saudi Arabia. However, both Iran and Saudi Arabia restored their diplomatic relations by 2023.
