Investigation launched against Marius Borg Høiby, son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit (50), for bodily harm and property damage. The Oslo police confirmed this to the German Press Agency. He was reportedly arrested on Sunday and released on Monday. Borg Høiby is the eldest son of Mette-Marit, whom she brought into her relationship with Norway's Crown Prince Haakon (51).

The police were called to an apartment in Oslo after an alleged act of violence occurred there overnight on Sunday. According to police reports, there is a relationship between Borg Høiby and the victim.

The Norwegian court has not yet commented on the matter. Borg Høiby had previously withdrawn from the public eye surrounding his family and asked the press to respect his private life.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Borg Høiby's mother, Mette-Marit, had not embarked on a planned trip to the Olympic Games in Paris with Crown Prince Haakon. The Norwegian royal house has not yet given a reason for why the Crown Princess stayed home. She hopes to join later, according to the NTB news agency from the court.

People were concerned about Borg Høiby's actions after the investigation was launched against him. Despite the controversy, Mette-Marit, the people's beloved Crown Princess, chose to stay home from the Olympic Games.
