International Organization: Over 50,000 individuals relocating from Lebanon towards Syria
Due to continuous conflicts between Israel and Lebanon, approximately 50,000 individuals have sought refuge in Syria, as per UN reports. Collaborating with both governments, relief efforts are underway to aid those in distress, as declared by the UN Refugee Agency's Chief, Filippo Grandi, on X. Furthermore, more than 200,000 Lebanese residents have been displaced within their own country.
Lebanon currently hosts around 1.5 million Syrian refugees, as per official records, alongside other non-refugee Syrians. This ongoing conflict in Syria, which began in 2011, has led to the death of over 350,000 people and forced another 13 million to either flee or relocate within the country. A conclusive end to this turmoil continues to evade us.
The United Nations (UN) has been actively involved in providing aid and support to the displaced individuals from Israel and Lebanon, as well as the Syrian refugees in Lebanon. The UN Refugee Agency, led by Filippo Grandi, is overseeing relief efforts for those affected by the conflicts.
