Illegal Activities - Injured women's condition stable after gunshots in Hagen.
After the shootings in Hagen, two women with severe injuries are now out of danger. The spokesperson for the Hagen prosecutor's office announced on Monday that their conditions have stabilized. One of them is the 33-year-old wife of the suspect apprehended on Sunday, while the other is a 23-year-old woman.
The 23-year-old is believed to be a customer of the hairdresser's salon and is currently classified as a random victim. Senior Public Prosecutor Michael Burggraef shared this information on Monday. Two other men, aged 22 and 25, family members of the suspect, were also seriously injured by gunshots.
A 34-year-old man with Turkish citizenship has been detained in pre-trial detention for allegedly attempting to murder four times. He has not commented on the charges so far. He was arrested after a lengthy manhunt on Sunday. Investigators believe the motive behind the crime lies within the family domain. The ongoing investigation into the specific details and course of the crime is still underway, as stated by Senior Public Prosecutor Burggraef.
According to his account, the 24-year-old allegedly shot his wife in the head with a pistol in the shared apartment of their multi-family house on Saturday. She sustained a head injury. He then reportedly fired a shot a floor above a door. No one was harmed there. Subsequently, he allegedly went to a nearby hairdresser's salon and fired more shots. Two men and the 23-year-old woman were wounded as a result.
The alleged murder weapon has been retrieved, as per the police. The pistol was discovered where the suspect claimed it was located, behind a tree in a wooded area.
Following the crime, the man drove his vehicle to a nearby parking lot and escaped on foot. The police used a helicopter to search for him on Saturday.
The authorities received continuous leads from the public, which they investigated. One of these tips ultimately led to the apprehension of the 24-year-old in a rural area close to the crime scenes. He surrendered without resistance, as reported on Sunday.
