At the Speyer Brezel Festival, four people were injured during the afternoon of the following Sunday when an accident involving two floats occurred. Over the weekend, there had only been talk of an injured girl - the prosecutor's office in Frankenthal has now corrected this number.

According to initial investigations by the Speyer police, the brakes of a float failed on a steep section. Despite the driver's attempt to swerve, the vehicle collided with a stationary float. Several people were pushed onto the lead float as a result. Three people, aged eleven, 28, and 39, sustained light injuries. A twelve-year-old girl suffered severe leg injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. Her condition, according to police reports, is stable.

The investigations by the prosecutor's office and police are ongoing. Witnesses who filmed the incident are requested to contact the Speyer police.

The accident at the Speyer Brezel Festival occurred in the same Rhineland-Palatinate town where the Public Prosecutor's Office in Frankenthal is located. The emergency services were called to the scene of the Traffic accident involving a moving truck and another float on the weekend. The authorities in Frankenthal had to correct an initial report of just one injured person, as four individuals were actually hurt.
