Individuals suspected in Solingen could potentially face expulsion.

The individual accused of conducting a knife attack in Solingen was supposedly set to be expelled to Bulgaria, as stated by RTL/ntv. Their asylum petition had been turned down the previous year. They vanished and resurfaced in Solingen around six months later.

Authorities in Germany reportedly had plans to send him back to Bulgaria, but he disappeared from the scene for half a year. When he reappeared, he was housed at a refugee shelter in Solingen.

Under the Dublin Regulation, the country where an asylum seeker initially enters Europe is responsible for their asylum procedure. In this situation, that would be Bulgaria.

As per German News Agency (dpa) reports, the suspect entered the EU by way of Bulgaria. However, due to his disappearance in Germany, his deportation was momentarily halted, and he was moved to Solingen as per reports from Welt newspaper.

The man is currently under investigation for allegedly killing three individuals in a knife attack in Solingen on a Friday evening. The Federal Prosecutor's Office has taken charge of the case, examining the suspect for potential charges of murder and suspected affiliation with the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.

Despite the Dublin Regulation assigning his asylum procedure to Bulgaria, the accused individual was found in a refugee shelter in Solingen.In light of his alleged involvement in a knife attack and potential IS affiliation, the investigation into the 'Other' individual is being handled by the Federal Prosecutor's Office.
