Individual severely harmed by gunfire in Berlin

During a European Championship soccer match between Italy and Albania, there's a violent shooting in Berlin-Moabit that leaves a young man badly wounded. A swarm of cops is on the scene.

In Berlin-Moabit, a 23-year-old man sustained at least one gunshot wound on Saturday night. Fortunately, he wasn't in critical condition and was rushed to the hospital, said a police representative. The shooter remains at large, as the police haven't detected any leads yet.

The cause of the incident is still shrouded in mystery. There were rumors that it could be related to the soccer match between Italy and Albania (2:1), but the police neither confirmed nor denied this speculation. They remained tight-lipped about the incident when asked for further details. However, the "Bild" newspaper got hold of some eyewitness accounts and pointed out a potential link to the soccer game.

According to the newspaper, six shots were fired that hit the man in his arms and legs. He had managed to drag himself several hundred meters to the nearest street corner before collapsing. The weapon was reportedly a small caliber gun.
