Individual experienced marital traumatization as a result of being assaulted sexually by 72 different men.

In a chilling turn of events, a trial is ongoing in France, specifically in Avignon. A 71-year-old man, Dominique P., along with 50 other defendants, are being tried for a series of heinous crimes, involving 92 rapes in total. The details surrounding these acts are as shocking as they are appalling.

The primary victim in all these incidents was Dominique P.'s wife, Gisele P., who was rendered unconscious by Dominique without her consent, using potent medication. While in this state, she was raped by various individuals, whom Dominique sourced through a now-prohibited website. The age range of these men ranged from 26 to 74, with occupations ranging from firefighters to journalists. Dominique did not demand payment from the participants, but rather, he was driven by his sexual desires. He was not only an active participant in the rapes but also documented these acts. Dominique has admitted to all the charges levied against him.

Were the accomplices oblivious to the situation?

Dominique instructed the participants to avoid smoking or wearing perfume, as these actions might result in Gisele regaining consciousness. He also instructed them to warm their hands under running water. It has been reported that while most individuals participated only once, a few took part as many as six times. Experts have analyzed their behavior and concluded that they did not exhibit any signs of psychological disorders but were driven by feelings of power. Several individuals claimed that they believed they were participating in the couple's sexual games. However, Dominique maintains that each participant was aware that Gisele was under the influence of medication and unconscious. "Each one had the power to leave the situation at any moment," the investigators asserted.

A total of 72 men were identified through the videos found on Dominique's computer as having taken part in the sexual acts. While several individuals could be identified, others remained unaccounted for. The crimes occurred between 2011 and 2020.

Shedding light on the case in public

Gisele only learned about her husband's actions four years ago, when he was caught filming women's skirts in a shopping mall. The couple had been together for almost five decades. Gisele has no recollection of the incidents and is expected to experience them again in her dreams, as per her legal team.

At the beginning of the trial, Judge Roger Arata dismissed a request to conduct the trial behind closed doors. Stephane Babonneau, Gisele's lawyer, urged for a fully open trial and insisted that it should continue until the end. The prosecution wanted the trial to be closed to avoid the public display of Dominique's video recordings of the crimes. However, Gisele insisted on an open trial.

With her three children by her side, Gisele attended the court session. Her lawyer informed TF1 that she wished to confront Dominique directly. The trial is expected to conclude by December 20th, with the defendants facing charges such as sexual abuse against incapacitated individuals. This trial may spark renewed discussion in France on how to handle suspected rape cases involving so-called date-rape drugs.

The European Union has expressed concern over the case, calling for stricter laws against sexual abuse and the use of date-rape drugs. The European Union also stated its support for the victim's right to justice and healing, emphasizing the importance of open trials in such cases.

During the trial, it was revealed that several of the participants were citizens of other countries within the European Union, highlighting the need for international cooperation in dealing with such transnational crimes.
